Brrrr...time for squirrelin' up

As the wind blows and the temp drops to freezing, It is human nature to pack on a few pounds to stay warm. I see people trying to loose holiday pounds by going to the gym and running and working out...this seems a little odd to me. its cold, the fatter you are the warmer you are. Ever notice really fat people sweat even when they are sitting still? Jay coined the term squirrelin' up so for him i give you this picture showing he and I as the first memebers of the annual Squirrelin up club! Who needs a drink holder?

On the nbc5 web site today there is a news report of a Kindergarten teacher finding 8 bags of heroin in one of her students pockets. I have two questions after reading this article:
1. How can a junkie mom leave 8 bags of heroin laying arround where little children can get to it?
2. What exaclty was the teacher doing going throgh the pockets of a kindergarten student?

Nov. 12 5:20 am..I will be helping set up the course for the Oswegoland Park Districts Gobbler Hobbler 10 k run. Most years I help with course set up and do the announcements and start the race. In the afternoon I expect to play a little texas hold'em tourney and win 200 bucks or so.

Nov. 19th is dinner at Mom's house then off to the North Aurora Fire barn for the annual turkey raffel. Much fun, much beers, little chance of winning a turkey.

As for the actual day of thanks, we are planning on heading down to see my grandma in Mo. and stopping over in Ky for visit with Sam's dad and some family.

Weekend Fun

Week end fun time started with a fun night of no tv and talks of home improvements. We made our wish list of things we would like to do to this house! Some yard restoration and hardwood fakewood floors seemed to be the main two of the more that 30 items we identified. Hopefully over the next several months we will be crossing several of the items off our list.


Saturday night was a fun time. After a long day of trying to stay out of Samanthas way as she worked tirelessly on the house, we meet Jay and Jess and Di at the Red Star Tavern in Geneva Commons.

After some dinner and a couple martins Samantha and I made our way to Vila Verone for one more martini and a dance. The piano bars ivory tickler played our wedding song upon my request and we cut a rug! We must be getting old because we had all that fun and were still home by 12:30.

I can see the future! Fantasy Update

At the start of this NFL season me a couple of the boys, namley Harry and Josh, are playing in a Fantasy Foobtall leauge where the only goal is to predict the winners each week. Going into the upcomming week 9, My team, "Otis Wilson's Destroyers", is currently tied with Harry for the lead. Josh is rapidly gaining ground. Harry and I have each correctly predicte 69/89 game winners. Not too shabby. Jb is a mear 2 games behind. (Tied with Donavn McNabb's mamma.

As you may have heard Samantha lamenting, I started the spring with my first fantasy baseball leauge. After a season opening draft of all MLB players, we competed heaed to head in 12 catagories, 6 offensive and 6 pitching catagories. After 162 games, and 103 roster moves, my team "Dirty Dogs" finished a contested 2nd place of 12 teams, with Chad Stolte taking the crown. (We tied but he had a lower team era so he is the champ)

Now we are in week 8 of the NFL fantasy leauge. Currenlty my team "yourwifesbabydaddy" is in 2nd behind Scott Michner. It is head to head each week with a club. I fully antisipate winning the leauge but Mich so far is undefeated (8-0) compared to my (6-2) record.

Todays adventure

Today I attended the IAPD annual legal symposium in Oak Brook at the world famous Hamburger U! Hours and hours of discussion of the past years litigation and effects on Illinois Park Districts .
A couple hours were spent on the past years legislation and the impact those bills will have moving forward. I have attended this event 6 of the last seven years and other than the review of tort cases, I must say the best thing about it is in the lobby of Hamburger U there are several fully functioning MacDonal's beverage stations. You can get any of the pop or orange drink you want and coffie service! mmmmmmm orange drink!
